Oundle Waste Less – being wiser with resources
For more info contact us at owl@transitionoundle.org.uk
Our use (and waste) of resources is causing serious environmental problems – from biodiversity depletion, water shortages, global warming to land litter and ocean plastic. In 2019, Transition Oundle launched a project named Oundle Waste Less (abbreviated to OWL) to provide some local solutions to encourage people to make simple changes to how they use goods to reduce unnecessary waste, and, in turn their impact on the environment.
OWL has helped set up a range of events, activities and talks, here are some other ideas…
The OWL project also aims promote sharing through initiatives such as OLIO (an app for sharing food surpluses), LiftShare (promotes shared car journeys) and Swishing events (clothes swaps) as well as working with local businesses to reduce waste, improve environmental performance and bring cost savings as a result. The OWL team will also work with local Councils and organisations to promote wider use of recycling facilities and with Keep Britain Tidy to arrange and promote local litter picks as part the #GBSpringClean. All initiatives from people living in East Northamptonshire which are running along these lines will be willingly supported by the OWL project – please get in touch.
